About EDDC
A non-profit childcare center serving the East Dallas community for more than 40 years, EDDC serves children six weeks of age through pre-school in a warm and loving environment with low teacher/child ratios and experienced staff. Children at EDDC develop a strong social, cognitive, emotional and physical foundation for kindergarten and beyond.
EDDC is not governed, subsidized, or affiliated with any religious group or outside organization. As a result, every parent plays a meaningful role in shaping the Center’s success.

We love EDDC! It has quite the waitlist for infants so be sure to get on early in your pregnancy. I struggled emotionally to drop off my son when he was so small, but the teachers were so kind and caring and sent me pictures! They were also helpful in advising when to transition him to purees, when he was ready to potty train, etc. He’s two now and thriving. They really take the time to invest and get to know your kiddos. Some of the teachers also babysit outside of daycare on nights and weekends and that has been a lifesaver!

Our Leadership
Kathy Fields
Director
Kathy Fields joined EDDC in 1999 as an infant/toddler teacher and has served as Director since 2002. She brings more than 25 years of experience working with young children, including 13 years with toddlers and five years as an assistant director prior to joining EDDC. Kathy holds an Associate’s Degree in Child Development and her Administrative Credential in Child Care (ECMI).
Kathy’s family consists of her sons Jarrett and Jacob as well as Roxy the dog, Minga the cat and Blackjack the rabbit. Kathy’s motivation is simple: she loves being part of a child’s growth, and it has always been her goal to work closely with families to help each child reach their full potential.
Pam Beaty
Assistant Director
Pam Beaty has been a cornerstone of EDDC since 1985, making her one of the longest-tenured staff members in the Center’s history. Over the years, she has worn many hats: dance teacher, three-year-old and pre-k classroom teacher, and Assistant Director since 2006. Pam’s connection to EDDC began through her dance company, Pam’s Tiny Dancers, which served childcare centers across the DFW area. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Child Development and her Administrator Credential in Child Care (ECMI).
Outside of work, Pam enjoys time with her husband James, daughter Lauren, son-in-law Zach, their dogs, horses, and assorted ranch critters. On why she works with children: “When you find something you do well and love doing it, what else is there to say?”
